Bharathaanjali is founded by Guru V. Balakrishnan. The school is dedicated in teaching bharatanatyam to children and adults. Growing the youths with the passion for this ancient art form, Bharathaanjali hopes to provide a platform for the students to hone their talent and perform bharatanatyam regularly.
To date, students of Bharathaanjali have performed in numerous public shows and Hindu temples in Singapore and regionally.
Classes are conducted weekly at our Norris Road studio. Anyone who has the passion and interest for bharatanatyam, regardless of age, is warmly welcome to join us.

Group Classes (Basic to Advance Levels) are conducted on weekdays evening (5pm - 9pm) and weekends daytime (9am - 5pm).
Individual classes can be arranged based on availabity of time-slots of the dance teachers.

Guru V. Balakrishnan is a dancer, tutor, choreogrpaher, lyricist, nattuvanar. His works and performance in bharatanatyam has spread across four decades across the world. Currently, his passion is to promote the purest form of Bharatanatyam in Singapore.
Guru V. Balakrishnnan has choreographed and performed in numerous big national events in Singapore such as Singapore Arts Festival, Singapore Dance Festival, Deepavali Light Up, Chingay Procession, President's Star Charity and National Day Parade. From 1988 to 1991, He represented Singapore as a Cultural Ambassador, performing in UK, South Korean, Canada, USA, Germany, Australia and Switzerland with raving reviews.
As a performer, Guru V. Balakrishnan has done many full length recital in Singapore and abroad. Some of the countries he has showcased his works were India, Japan, Canada and USA. He has also collaborated with other dancers around the world as choreographer, nattuvanar, performer and lyricist. In total he has penned lyrics for eight full shows.
With all the achievements and experience that he has garnered through the years, Guru V. Balakrishnan founded Bharathaanjali Dance School in 1990. The school has grew steadily and groomed many young and promising bharatanatyam dancers in Singapore.
